Cape Cod regions: choose a base around your trip
Choose your base by the places you will repeatedly visit. Regional labels help with geography, but your exact lodging address determines the daily journey.

Score two candidate bases
List your three most important activities and arrival method. For each base, identify the actual journey to each activity: walk, bicycle, bus, car or a combination. Mark a journey unresolved if you cannot confirm it for your dates. This makes a weak base choice visible before a tempting room rate dominates the decision.
A car-free trip should put extra weight on repeated transfers. A driving trip should compare parking requirements at its main destinations. Neither approach needs a universal “best town” winner; it needs a base that fits your particular itinerary.
Be precise with village names
Accommodation listings may use a village or regional name instead of the municipality you need for permits and services. Record the street address and managing town for each parking decision. Regional proximity does not establish permit validity.
Avoid the all-Cape itinerary trap
Before adding another distant outing, count the time and decisions it adds to both directions of travel. If the trip starts to depend on a sequence of uncertain transfers or parking opportunities, remove an outing or choose a different base. Leave room for weather and changes in service.
